On November 8th, the Politecnico di Milano’s urban trail run – the PolimiRun Lecco 26 – returns. As always, it promises to be a fantastic day of sport and fun, dedicated to the Politecnico community!

The 10 km race starts at 9:30 AM from the Politecnico’s Lecco Campus, runs through the city, and then heads north towards the hills of the Lecco area, winding through natural landscapes and charming villages – a run featuring ups and downs that offers a chance to discover the local territory.

The PolimiRun Lecco 26 features both competitive and non-competitive categories and, as always, is open to everyone!

What is the PolimiRun LECCO?

PolimiRun Lecco is an urban trail race organized by the Politecnico. It is a 10 km race offered in both competitive and non-competitive categories that takes place on a mixed road and dirt-track course in the mountains near Lecco, featuring an elevation gain (D+) of 425 meters. PolimiRun Lecco is open to everyone.

You can pick up the official race shirt, bib, and race kit at the following locations and times:

  • Milan Leonardo Campus, Gardella Terrace – Friday, November 7, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM;
  • Lecco Campus, Via Ghislanzoni 22 – Saturday, November 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

After registering, you will receive an email with your bib number; you must present this—along with a form of identification—when collecting your bib. You will also receive the official race shirt and bag. Shortly before the event, you will be sent an email containing the dates, times, and all final details.
Competitive runners will receive an email with their bib number during the week of the race. If you do not receive it, please write to polimirunwinter@evodata.it.

Race bibs cannot be collected on race day, except by participants traveling from outside the region; they may collect theirs at the Village set up within the Lecco Campus on Sunday, November 8, between 7:30 AM and 8:15 AM. To collect the bib, you must present the email containing your bib number and a form of identification.

When you pick up your kit, you will receive the jersey in the size you specified during registration. Under no circumstances can the jersey you receive be exchanged for a different size.

Race kits may be collected solely at the designated locations, on the specified days, and during the indicated times.

If you haven’t received a confirmation email after registering for the non-competitive PolimiRun Lecco, please check your spam folder; if you still can’t find it, email eventi-sport@polimi.it and attach your payment receipt. If you have registered for the competitive PolimiRun Lecco, your race bib number will be emailed to you during race week; if you do not receive it, you can email polimirunwinter@evodata.it.

Your registration for the competitive PolimiRun Lecco may be deemed non-compliant if you have not uploaded a valid medical certificate; you have until the day of race kit collection to present a suitable one. You can upload it online via your personal area by November 4, or alternatively, show it to the staff responsible for distributing competitive race kits. For any information regarding your registration for the competitive PolimiRun Lecco, please email polimirunwinter@evodata.it.

Yes. You will need to show the email received from your friend—containing their bib number and a digital copy of their ID—on your smartphone.

You can register for PolimiRun Winter via the sport.polimi.it website. You may choose between the non-competitive and competitive PolimiRun Lecco events. Registration for the non-competitive race will close on November 6, 2026, or when the maximum number of available spots is reached. Registration for the competitive race will close on November 4, 2026, or when the maximum number of available spots is reached. The organizers reserve the right to close registration early or to accept registrations after the closing date, at their sole discretion.

Only individuals meeting the requirements outlined in the competitive race regulations may register for the competitive event. The group registered for the competitive PolimiRun Lecco will start at 9:30 AM at the front of the pack. The course, race shirt, and services will be the same for everyone.

Official Brooks race shirt, disposable race bib, mid-course and finish-line refreshment stations, changing rooms, bag drop service at the PolimiRun Lecco Village (located within the Lecco Campus), race pack containing sponsor products, third-party liability insurance, and technical and medical support.

Registration for the non-competitive PolimiRun Lecco for youths aged 14 to 17 (as of race day) must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. Children under the age of 14 cannot be registered but may participate if accompanied by a parent; they will not be issued a race bib or t-shirt.
Athletes under the age of 18 cannot participate in the competitive PolimiRun Lecco.

Participants may maintain their preferred pace, bearing in mind that the organizers will no longer guarantee safety along the route after 1 hour and 40 minutes.

The course consists of a single loop starting and finishing at the Lecco Campus. The PolimiRun Lecco Village will be set up there, offering all facilities (refreshments, restrooms, and changing rooms). We will start at 9:30 AM from Via Ghislanzoni 22, Lecco.

Below are the easiest ways to reach the PolimiRun Lecco Village at the Lecco Campus (Via Ghislanzoni 22, Lecco):

  • By car from Milan: (50 km) SS 36 (Lake Como and Spluga Highway), a convenient dual carriageway that reaches Lecco in one hour;
  • By train from Milan: Milan–Sondrio–Tirano railway line. Direct and local trains from Milan Centrale and Porta Garibaldi stations. Travel time: 40 minutes for the direct train, which runs approximately every hour.

The start area will be located on Via Ghislanzoni, where the PolimiRun Lecco will begin; within the start area, athletes must position themselves according to the following order:

  • at the front, the athletes registered for the competitive PolimiRun Lecco, positioned right under the starting arch;
  • followed by the athletes registered for the non-competitive PolimiRun Lecco.

The groups will be distinguishable by the color of the race bib, which differs for the competitive and non-competitive events.

The competitive participants will start first at 9:30 AM, and the non-competitive participants will start immediately afterwards.

Access to the starting areas is permitted until 9:00 AM.

The race route is closed to traffic until the last athlete has passed. Once again this year, the course covers a distance of 10 km. The start and finish lines are located at the Lecco Campus (Via Ghislanzoni 22). The route will wind through the city of Lecco, including sections in the hilly areas.

FINISH AT 12:30 PM.

A bag storage service is available, subject to the following conditions:

  • When you pick up your race bib, you will also receive a ticket with the corresponding number. Attach this tag (using the provided safety pin) to the adidas bag (the one containing sponsor goodies) and pack inside it whatever items you would like to have waiting for you at the finish line.
  • Drop off your bag at the bag-drop stand set up at the Lecco Campus on Saturday, November 8, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and on Sunday, November 9, from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM.
  • After the race, pick up your bag from the stand at the Lecco Campus by 1:00 PM by showing your race bib to our staff.

N.B. It will not be possible to check in bags other than the race bags provided by the organizers at the time of kit pickup, or similar bags accepted at the organizers’ discretion.

Yes, there will be gazebos set up as changing areas. There will be no showers.

After the race, you will find a link to view your time on the page. There will be a ranking for competitive runners based on finishing order, and an alphabetical list of non-competitive participants. No rankings are provided for the non-competitive run, as it is considered a recreational physical activity.
