Winter League FAQ

How do the Winter League work? When do it finish?

The tournament will start in October and will finish in December.
Tournaments start with preliminary groups, where every team will challenge all the other teams in their group, and after that there will be the playoff.
The tournament duration depends on the number of participating teams.
Matches will be played during the week (in Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, friday), Saturday all day or from 6 pm to 10 pm; depends of the sports.
 

When are the matches held?

The main sport areas is:

  • Giuriati Sport Center (Via Pascal 6): outdoor football court, Arena and Padel court
  • Parco dei Gasometri: outdoor football court.

Who can be part of the team?

Each team must be made up exclusively of students enrolled at Politecnico di Milano. independent of the degree course.
It is not allowed the participation of students that are not enrolled at Politecnico di Milano.

 

How many players can join the team?

For each there is a maximum players:

  • Female and male 5 a side football: 9 players
  • Female and male 3vs3 basketball: 5 players
  • Mixed 6vs6 volleyball: 10 players
  • Double open padel: 3 players

 

 

Is the fee indicated per person?

No, the fee is considered per team. The cost includes the adidas t-shirt for each members and a certain number of guaranteed matches (according to the discipline).
It is mandatory for every registered player to have the Basic Subcription that costs 30 euro (is not included in the registration team fee).

 

Do I need a medical examination to participate?

To take part in the competition you need a medical examination that certificates your suitability for competitive or non-competitive sports with also a valid ECG resulting in the standard.
After the purchase of the basic subscription, each participant can book a free medical examination throuhg your own personal area of the website.

How does the €50 game deposit work?

Each team will have to deposit a fee of €50 as a game deposit, committing to participate in all matches as per the calendar published on the site. In case of inability to participate, it will be possible to notify the Organizing Committee no later than 5:00 PM on the day preceding the match. Failure to notify in time will result in the loss of the deposit. For those who comply with the regulations, the fee will be fully refunded at the end of the tournament.

 

Do I need the medical examination to register the team?

No, the certificate can also be presented after the finalization of the registration for the Championships.
It is mandatory to upload it before playing any race, under the penalty of losing the game.

 

Is my team officially registered if I filled the online form?

The team is officially registered when the captain pay the registration fee for the team.
Filling the form witout the payment means that the team is not registered for the activity.

Can I add a player after paying the team fee?

It is possible to add a player after paying the team fee and filling out the form.
To do so, it will be mandatory to send an email to tornei@polimi.itindicating the tournament to which it belongs, the name of the team, the name and surname of the added player and the e-mail address. The latter will have to purchase the basic subscription before the registration deadline.
