What is PolimiRun Winter?

PolimiRun Winter is the urban trail run of Politecnico di Milano. It is a 10 km run on a mixed route, road and dirt, through the Lecco Mountains, with a climb (D+) of 425 mt. PolimiRun Winter is open to everyone.

 

How and within which date can I register for PolimiRun Winter?

You can register for PolimiRun Winter through the Web site sport.polimi.it. You can choose whether to participate in non-competitive or competitive PolimiRun Winter. Non-competitive registration will be open up to 10 November 2023 or upon reaching the maximum number of bibs available. Competitive registration will be open up to 8 November 2023 or upon reaching the maximum number of bibs available.The Organization therefore reserves the right to close the registration early or to accept beyond the closing data at its sole discretion.

What are the differences between COMPETITIVE and NON-COMPETITIVE PolimiRun Winter?

The registration to the competitive race is allowed only to people fullfilling the requirements written in the competitive race Official Rules. The group registered for the competitive PolimiRun Winter will start first, at 10 am. The route, the T-shirt and the services will be the same for everyone.

 

I did not receive the confirmation email with my bib number. What can I do?

If you have not received the confirmation email right after your registration to the PolimiRun Winter, try checking the SPAM folder and if you cannot find it there, write to eventi-sport@polimi.itand attach your payment receipt; we will send you a new confirmation email. Competitive runners will receive an email with the bib number in the week of the race; if you don't receive it, you can write to polimirunwinter@evodata.it.

 

What does the registration fee include?

Official adidas race T-shirt, bib number with disposable chip, half-way and final refreshment, timekeeping service, changing rooms, bag storage set up in the PolimiRun Winter Village at Lecco Campus, race bag with products of the sponsors, RCT insurance, technical and medical assistance.

 

Is the participation allowed to minors?

Children aged 14 to 17 on the day of the race must be registered to the non-competitive PolimiRun Winter by a parent or legal guardian. Children under 14 years cannot be registered but they can participate with a parent; they will not have bib and T-shirt. Minors under 18 cannot register and partecipate to competitive PolimiRun Winter.

Is it possible to walk the PolimiRun?

Everyone can keep the pace that they prefer, by taking into account that after 1 hour and 40 minutes the organization will no longer guarantee the safety on the route.

Where, when and how can I pick up my race kit?

You can pick up your official race jersey, race bib, and race kit in the following places and times

  • Milano Campus Leonardo, Via Pascal, lateral entrance of C.S. Giuriati – Friday 10 November from 11 am to 7 pm
  • Lecco Campus, Via Ghislanzoni 22 – Saturday 11 November from 10 am to 4 pm

After the registration you will receive an email with your bib number, show it, with your ID card, at the moment of the collection of your race bib. Together with the race bib, you will receive the T-shirt and the official race pack. Just before the event, you will receive an email with dates, times and all the necessary and definitive information.
Competitive race participants will receive the email with the bib number in the week of the race. If you don't receive the email, you can write to polimirunwinter@evodata.it.

It is not possible to pick up the race kit on the day of the race unless people who come from outside the Lombardy region: only they can pick up the race bib on Sunday, November 12 from 8:30 to 9:15 am at Campus Lecco. To pick up the race kit you have to show the email with your bib number and an identity document.

When you collect your kit, you can communicate to the staff the size of the shirt you prefer. For hygene reasons, the collected shirt cannot be replaced under any circumstances. FOR THIS REASON WE KINDLY ASK YOU TO CHECK IMMEDIATELY ON SITE THAT THE ASSIGNED SIZE AND MODEL ARE CORRECT.

The race kit can be collected only and exclusively in the places, days and times indicated.

Can I pick up the racing bib for another person?

Yes; in order to do that you must show (on your smartphone) the email received by your friend with his bib number and also a digital copy of his identity document.

 

How does the bag storage work?

We have set up a bag deposit service; the procedure is:

  • Together with the race bib you will receive a ticket with the corresponding number of your bib. Apply the ticket (with the provided safety pin) to the adidas bag (the one containing the gadgets of the sponsors) and transfer what you want to find on arrival.
  • Give the bag at the stand of the bag deposit at the Leonardo Campus, Milan (in front of the C.S. Giuriati, Via Pascal, Milan) on November 10 from 11 am to 7 pm and at the Campus Lecco on November 12 from 8:30 am to 9:15 am.
  • At the end of the race (by 1 pm) take back your bag at the stand in the Village at Lecco Campus showing your bib to our staff.

N.B. It will not be possible to deposit a bag other than the one provided by the organization at the time of the kit collection or similar bags accepted at the discretion of the organization.

Where is the start? Where is the finish line?

The route will be on a single circular route that will start and finish at Lecco Campus. Here, you will find the PolimiRun Winter Village, where you can find all the services (refreshment, toilets, changing rooms). The start will be at 10:00 am from Via Ghislanzoni 22, Lecco.

 

How do I get to the PolimiRun Winter Village?

Here are the easiest ways to reach the PolimiRun Winter Village at the Lecco Campus (Via Ghislanzoni 22, Lecco):

  • by car from Milan: (50 km) SS36 del Lago di Como e dello Spluga, a fast road (superstrada) connects Milan with Lecco within 1 hour;
  • by train from Milan: Central station and Porta Garibaldi train line Milan – Sondrio – Tirano. Travel time: 40 minutes for the express train and 1 hour for the local one.

Who starts first and what will be the departure positioning?

The starting area will be located on Via Ghislanzoni where there will be the starting point of the race; inside the starting area, the athletes must position themselves in this order:

  • in the lead the athletes registered in the competitive Polimun Winter, precisely under the starting arc;
  • following the athletes registered in the non-competitive PolimiRun Winter;

The groups will be recognizable by the color of the dorsal, different for the competitive and non competitive race.

The first to leave will be the competitive ones at 10 am and immediately after, there will be the start for the the non competitive race.

Access to the start areas is allowed until 9:45 am.

Is it possible to change clothes before/after the race?

There will be gazebos used as changing rooms only in the Arrival Village. There will be no showers.

Will the race route be closed to traffic?

The race route is closed to traffic until the last athlete passes. It is 10 km long. The departure and arrival are at the Campus Lecco (via Ghislanzoni 22). The path will cross the city of Lecco with lenghts of the path in a hilly area.

Where can I find my race timing?

After the race, in sport.polimi.it/en/events/polimirun-winter you can find the link to view your time. There will be the ranking of the competitive runners in order of arrival and an alphabetical list for the non-competitive runners. The non-competitive race is a recreational motor activity, so there is not a ranking.

 

How can I watch my photos after the race?

We will publish the official PolimiRun Winter album and video on the Facebook profile Sport – Politecnico di Milano.
