Useful Exercises to Improve Your Performance

Increasing strength for runners is useful in reducing the likelihood of injuries, ranging from minor to more serious ones, that affect the muscles during performance due to fatigue. Core stability allows for greater control of the body in space during performance, making it easier to recover from imbalances. In this training session, we will improve these factors through specific strength exercises, positively influencing performance.

The Benefits of Yoga for Running

Yoga is recommended as a complementary practice to running due to the numerous benefits it can provide: awareness in breathing, muscle flexibility, and releasing tension in the spine. In this dedicated lesson, runners will practice positions that they can incorporate into their training routine.

MENTAL TRAINING FOR RUNNERS
Mindfulness for sports
Saturday 18 May
Freeing the mind to run in serenity, concentration to focus on the goal, listening to the body to make running even more effective, are some of the strategies of Mindfulness and applied sports psychology to running that will be addressed during the lesson to prepare optimally for the Polimirun and any sporting challenge.

Special Event with adidas Runners Milano
In preparation for PolimRun Spring 2024, on Wednesday, May 15th, Politecnico and adidas Runners Milano invite you to participate in a free training session open to everyone at Centro Sportivo Giuriati.
During the event, which will take place entirely on the track, it will also be possible to test the latest adidas Running shoes.

- 7:00 PM - Meeting at Giuriati, shoe testing, and bag drop-off
- 7:30 PM - Start of training
- 8:30 PM - End of training

POLIMIRUN TRAINING
TRAININGS FOR BEGINNERS
Join us for a beginner-focused running training program, consisting of three sessions during which you'll gain the fundamentals of running and receive practical advice to enhance your performance: conquer the 10 km of the PolimiRun like a true runner!
You'll be guided by a professional trainer, supported by members of the Politecnico di Milano Athletics Group. Participants will be divided into groups based on their chosen time goal for the PolimiRun.
At the end of each session, you'll receive a training schedule so you can continue improving between each appointment.
On the morning of the race, if you wish, you can meet up with your training companions to face this challenge together.
